Posted June 2010 Just a quick update to say that the Naseby Battlefield project is progressing nicely so be patient, keep your eyes glued to the news page and we will tell you when it goes live. On top of that, Igniting Ambition have awarded funding for a site specific project, working in partnership with the National Trust team at Canons Ashby, to happen next year. It’s going to be a jolly fun project harking back to the fun of the Victorian Sports Day – so get ready to be competitive! Posted March 2010 Lyveden New Bield First of all we wanted to say what a massive success the Lyveden New Bield Event was. Thanks so much to everybody who participated and everybody who came along to see the night go with a bang. The whole experience was thrilling to see come together, from lighting to soundtrack to performers to fireworks the two nights ran without a hitch. For pictures, video and samples of the soundtrack follow this link. And if you were lucky enough to be there then you can re-live the experience all over again! We are still hoping to restage the event this year so Watch This Space - litereally. And tell your friends! Naseby Battlefield A new audio tour is on the horizon at the civil war battle site at Naseby. It's early days but we'll be making a site visit later this week so we'll update as we get up to speed with our civil war facts . Watch This Space for more information in the near future. Posted August 2009 We have now started work on one of our largest projects of recent years. WTS's Bonfire night events at National Trust property, Lyveden New Bield (5th & 6th Nov) will offer a spectacular, fun and educational alternative to the usual bonfire night festivities. A mixture of fireworks, dramatic lighting, projection, original soundtrack and an exploration of the buildings direct links to the gunpowder plot of 1605 make for an enjoyable evening that will uncover some interesting facts that you may not be aware of. Posted Jan 2009 Snibston Discovery Park Audio Tour We are very pleased to announce an exciting new project for 2009, the Watch This Space Snibston Discovery Park Audio Tour. We will create an audio tour around Snibston Discovery Park, guiding participants around the site, highlighting the historical, cultural and natural heritage of the area. Each track will draw attention to the events and the people that helped shape the area in which the listener stands. The finished audio tour will offer the public the rare insight into unknown anecdotes and forgotten heritage through an exciting new creative interpretation. Posted Dec 2008 Leicester Cultural Quarter Audio Tour Preview Over the last year we have been busy creating an Audio Tour around Leicester's Cultural Quarter that celebrates the unique history of the area. The Audio Tour uses an exhilarating blend of interviews, found sounds, creative text and atmospheric music to reveal the many layers and lives that have made this area such a vibrant place. The CQ art audio tour, along with information on other artworks commissioned for Leicester's Cultural Quarter, is now available to download at www.leicester.gov.uk/cqart. Download and enjoy the tour! Posted Oct 2008 Hansel and Gretel Audio Walk at Fermynwoods Contemporary Art Following on from our extremely successful Hidden Tracks Audio Tour events in 2006, we have teamed up once again with our friends at Fermynwoods Contemporary Art to create a wacky family-friendly re-working of the classic Hansel and Gretel story. Participants using an MP3 player listen to an intriguing rendition of this popular tale, while exploring the nearby woodlands and fields in a new and unique way, with lots of surprises on route. The walk ends up at the amazing installation at Sudborough Green Lodge, where artist Richard Woods has covered the building in daring retro designs. There will be a morning (10am- 12 noon) and afternoon(2- 4pm) event on Sunday 2nd November and Sunday 9th November as well as special education days for school groups. Posted 28/11/07 The Leicester Cultural Quarter audio tour is tantalisingly close to completion so we will post the link up here as soon as it goes live and then you can all download the tracks and the map and find out some unexpected nuggets of information as you walk around Leicester's St Georges area. It could be a little while until the project is officially launched as it will coincide with a whole programme of commissions from Leicester City Council that will be unveiled next Spring. So do be patient and we will let you know as soon as there is any news.
